Yes, he was brave for doing what he did, but he did also purposefully bully Harry throughout most of his time at Hogwarts which there wasn’t really any need for. So, despite his good qualities and good intentions, he wasn’t the nicest of people. This is one of the better qualities of a Slytherin and they will do anything for the people they care about. I need to be a little bit more strategic, and even cunning, to reach my goals, and for Slytherins, these qualities are just natural. They are also very resilient, and many of them are actually very good-hearted folks.
